Wonderfully homely food
The Jolly Sailor sits in the heart of West Looe and has done so for over 500 years.
It would have been a place for customers of old to walk in, grab an ale and sit down with some meat, cheese and bread; maybe the fish caught that same day or perhaps the pottage sat bubbling in the pot on the fire.
We decided to offer a menu worthy of a 500 year old drinking pub. Bookings not essential, but recommended. However, bookings
are
essential for a table on Thursday's Shanty Night
- this is a very popular night and it may lead to disappointment if you do not book. However, it is on a 'first come, first served' basis, and the tables disappear quickly!
If you cannot manage to grab a table for food, there is still standing room to enjoy the Shanties after the food service and, for this, no booking is required.
Why not visit The Jolly, take in the atmosphere with a few drinks, throw in a lovely home cooked meal and then finish off with a nightcap or three?!
